Xaero's Minimap was created by xaero96 in 2015. The missing map feature in Minecraft was really annoying, especially when you play Survival games.

Thanks to the skilled developer, all features we need in a map was put in this mod and even more. Because of the amazing design philosophy of the developer, it looks like a default feature in Vanilla Minecraft.

The list of features is incredible and so are the settings. You can configure the map as you like. I highly recommend this mod to you for Survival games, or rather for everythinig. Trust me, you won't be disappointed.

  • NETHER ZOOMED

  • WAYPOINT

  • NIGHTMAP

As you can see above, Xaero's Minimap Mod is configurable in many ways. The map itself can be placed in each corner either with fixed cardinal points, or as a rotating map, depending on your line of sight.

If the minimap is too small for you, just make it bigger by clicking the default Hotkey Z. Thanks to the permanent refresh, the map autodetects when its night, or if you are either in a cave, Nether or The End.

Furthermore, it is also possible to set waypoint anywhere you like. A waypoint is automatically set on your death location, if you wish so.

DESCRIPTION

As a result of the great development of Xaero's Minimap, it's smoother and faster than any other similar mods. For this reason I really enjoy it and admire the awesome work of the modder.

Many cool features have been added to the mod. For example underground, nether and end maps, ability to set waypoints, deathpoints, display players, mobs and items on the map, locking the cardinal points and many more.

However, for gameplay reasons the developer added two versions to download: Fair Play and Full version. Obviously there are differences between those, which are suitable for PVP servers. The Fair Play version does not display any entities or cave maps.

MOD RECOMMENDATIONS

Besides the fact that this mod requries Forge, we recommend to use Xaero's Worldmap from the same developer. Also check out his other mods, they are incredible useful and fun to have.

HOW TO USE

We are providing you a brief operation manual and describe the most important features and settings for the complex Xaero's Minimap Mod.

After a successful installation, the minimap should appear on the bottom left corner. If you can't see anything, go through our How To Install guide carefully. I don't recommend you to put the minimap to the bottom right corner, as it overlays the players hand.

The first thing you definetely have to get used to it is the hotkey configuration. You can change it as you like, but the default looks like this:

Hotkeys Menu

The most important hotkeys in my opinion are Z, Y, B, H and U. To change the hotkeys simply open the Minecraft menu, click on options, then controls and scroll to the bottom of the list.

After that, open up the minimap settings menu by pressing Y. There are a lot of configurations, for most of them the default value is optimal. The only thing I recommend you to change is the hostile mobs radar, because they look the same as neutral mobs.
Go to the Entity Radar submenu and switch the Hostile Mobs color to any color you prefer.

Entity Radar Menu

If the minimap doesn't work properly, try to activate the Safe Mode. To do so, open the mod settings menu by pressing Y, navigate to the last page and switch the button to Safe Mode: On.

Many other settings are available aswell, but I leave it up to you to explore them by yourself. It's not that hard, just play around a little bit. I wish you a great enjoyment with this mod!
