Storage Drawers is a Mod created by jaquadro in 2014. The purpose of this mod is to create a whole new storage system in Minecraft.

Unlike chests, there is no inventory as you normally know in this mod. Every drawer is designed for a single item or resource and is stackable by default.

This storage solution gives a good looking, highly functional and compact experience and is perfect for people, who love to gather as many resources as possible.

The image collection above represents different drawers in different looks. It's also possible to colorize the border of the drawers as demonstrated on the last image.

By default, every drawer block is meant to store one item. But they are upgradeable and can store up to four items at once, each one also stackable.

In addition to that, you can also craft the drawers half as thick, which is also great for decoration purposes.

HOW TO INSTALL STORAGE DRAWERS MOD


  1. Update Minecraft to your preferred version.
  2. Download and install Forge and launch the game with your newly created profile once
  3. Get the Storage Drawers and Chameleon file and copy it into your mods folder in the Minecraft root directory
    To get there, press [WINDOWS] + [R] and type in %appdata%/.minecraft
  4. Launch Minecraft and let Forge configure everything
  5. Enjoy!

DESCRIPTION

Every drawer may receive an upgrade to store even more stacks as usual. The upgrade is determined by the size of the drawer. A basic one for example stores up to 32 stacks, while a 2x2 drawer stores up to eight stacks in each slot, which results in the same total amount.

However, it's pretty easy to use the Storage Drawers Mod. A simple right click inserts the current hand completely. Double right click inserts the current hand and all compatible stacks in the inventory.

To remove a single item from a drawer, simply left click on it. A full stack is removable by holding shift and left click on it. And the last function is shift and right click, which opens an user interface.

Moreover, there are two special blocks, compacting drawers and drawer controllers. The first one allows you to craft an item automatically, if the resources are stored in your drawers.
The drawer controller on the other hand lets you control connected drawers and combines them into a single large inventory. It also allows you to store any items from your inventory automatically, if they already exist.

COMPATIBILITY WITH OTHER MODS

Many people use it as a replacement for other storage mods, but normally they are still compatible with each other. Besides that, it requires Forge to work properly.

MOD RECOMMENDATIONS

We recommend you to use it in addition to any mod with new items, resources or tools. Tinkers Construct is a good choice for example. Try it out!

KNOWN ISSUES AND BUGS
