Pam's Harvestcraft was created by the user MatrexsVigil, also known as Pam, back in the year 2014.

The goal of this mod is to add a high variety of new foods, resources, items, tools and blocks into the game. As the name explains, the focus lies on the farming aspect, which is great for survival players.

Everything was designed so properly, that all the features look like they were implemented in Vanilla Minecraft. I highly recommend to give this mod at least a try!

The above image collection demonstrates some example items of Pam's Harvestcraft. As you can see, the new additions fit perfectly into the game.

Seeds are placed as always, cakes may be served on tables and items are sold easily. There are so many useful features, it is just amazing how much effort the developer has put into this mod.

HOW TO INSTALL PAM'S HARVESTCRAFT


  1. Update Minecraft to your preferred version
  2. Download and install Forge and launch the game with your newly created profile once
  3. Get the Mod file and copy it into your mods folder in the Minecraft root directory
    To get there, press [WINDOWS] + [R] and type in %appdata%/.minecraft
  4. Launch Minecraft and check if it is listed in the Mods menu
  5. Enjoy!

DESCRIPTION

Pam's Harvestcraft receives regular updates, which mostly include new items and bug fixes. It is useable for the latest version of Minecraft.

The features include for example 60 new crops, 6 garden brushes, 36 fruit or item bearing trees, 19 new fish types, more than 1300 new items and foods, simple beekeeping and much more.

COMPATIBILITY WITH OTHER MODS

Unfortunately there is no compatible resource pack, as the new additions still remain in its basic resolution, which might be annoying when playing with high resolution resource packs.

MOD RECOMMENDATIONS

To enhance the graphics I recommend you to install the Shaders Mod. Because of the missing resource pack compatibilities, the shaders are adding a nice touch to the game.

Besides that, Just Enough Items is also a good idea, because of the many new items you have to deal with.

KNOWN ISSUES AND BUGS

There are no known bugs so far. If you come across any bug, or want to give feedback, please post on the original post on the Minecraftforum.

GARDENS FOR FARMING

Gardens are spread all over the virtual Minecraft world. Those new type of blocks are dropping many of the basic materials in Pam's Harvestcraft.

There are six different garden types:

Arid Garden located in deserts, mesas and savannahs,
Frost Garden located in tiagas, extreme hills and snow biomes,
Soggy Garden located in tiagas and swamps,
Shaded Garden located in tiagas and forests,
Tropical Garden located in mesas and jungles and
Windy Garden located in plains and savannahs.

NEW CROPS ADDED

Plenty of new crops have been added to the game, for instace beans, berries, broccoli, coffee, garlic and much more. For a complete list of all types of new crops, click on this link.

EVERYTHING ABOUT BLUEBERRIES

As an example, let us check out the blueberry and go into the details. Blueberries are a new type of fruits added by Pam's Harvest craft Mod. They restore 1 hunger point each, when eaten.

To get such a fruit, you first have to find berry gardens or soggy gardens, which have a chance to drop one. By placing a blueberry in the crafting grid, you will receive a blueberry seed. Seeds are necessary to grow new shrubberies.

But that's not all, there are many more things possible to do with blueberries. Do you want a blueberry yogurt? No problem, simply put the fruit and a yogurt in a crafting grid.

DAIRY, INGREDIENTS AND MEAT

Dairy is the term for all farmble products from cows. This includes fresh milk, soy milk, silken tofu, heavy cream, butter, cheese, ice cream and yogurt.

Fresh Milks

Fresh Milk for example is simply crafted by inserting a bucket full of milk into the crafting grid. This can be used to craft many other things, such as cheese.

Ingredients are formed when combining two or more crops, or performing an action, for instance smelting or putting it in a cutting board. They are also called primary ingredients. Secondary Ingredients on the other hand, are crafted when combining at least one primary ingredient with a crop.

Meat is mainly dropped by animals. This term can be irritating, because fish is also included in the category Meat. One new method implemented in Pam's Harvestcraft to farm meat, are the traps.

GROUND AND WATER TRAPS

Meat is farmable by placing Ground Traps into the ground (not on top of it, this is important) or Water Traps into the water (at least 5 blocks beneath the water surface) to collect fish. You need to place at least one animal bait into it, to get the drops from the animals.

FOOD AND DRINKS

Food and Drinks are one of the main features in Pam's Harvest craft Mod. There are so many new items, including vegetables, fruits,seafood, bread, juices, sodas and much more.

COOKING UTENSILS AND MACHINES

Cooking Utensils are reusable items for making delicious cooking recipes. There are a total of eight items for this job.

These new items are Mortar and Pestle, Juicer, Saucepan, Pot, Mixing Bowl, Bakeware, Skillet and the Cutting Board. Each one of the items are used for a different purpose.

Juicer

Let us explore the Juicer for instance. It is crafted by putting a pressure plate below a stone block. Then you can use it to craft multiple items, such as smoothies and juices.

Machines on the other hand are used to obtain ingredients for crafting foods or to catch wildlife animals. There are a total of ten machines added to the game.

The new machines are the Apiary, Presser, Market, Shipping Bin, Ground and Water Trap, Oven, Churn, Quern and Wells. We have talked about Ground and Water Traps before, they are used to catch fishes and animals.

Apiary

Instead let us take a closer look to the Apiary. The Apiary is used to produce Honeycombs and Waxcombs. It is necessary to put a bee queen into this machine, which slowy produces the mentioned items. By placing flowers close to the machine, the amount of time needed to produce the items will be slightly reduced.

PERORATION

The Wiki is a good place to look up everything for this mod. Many other things are yet to explore, but I leave it up to you to fulfill this task.

As mentioned, I highly recommend you to install the Just Enough Items Mod. This makes things much easier for you.
